In 1988, Para took the shooting world by storm with the first significant improvement on the basic Model 1911 design in 77 years.
More than simply a high capacity frame and magazine, the Para pistol design incorporated a dozen visual enhancements to create a stronger, more accurate and more reliable handgun.
More recently, Para introduced the unique LDA trigger system with the most comprehensive and instinctive safety features of any handgun. But Para didn't stop there. Para in now including its new Power ExtractorT technology in all of its pistols--for better feeding and extracting reliability in every shot. Whatever Para pistol you choose, you can by assured that it is the most advanced, best-performing and reliable pistol of its kind . in short, the best pistol you can own!

The Para plant is North America's most technologically advanced handgun manufacturing facility. It features a CNC, or Computer Numeric Control, operation that turns raw stock into finished gun parts with no human assistance.
Raw castings and forgings for frames, slides and barrels ride on parts carriers that take them from one machining station to another, through a complete range of cutting drilling and shaping operations, all pre-programmed to achieve a flawless uniform product.

For ultimate strength and precision, Para uses high-tech, aerospace-grade investment castings for frames and slides. Unlike forging, investment casting eliminates much of the possibility of human error involved in extensive machining, and offers the firearms designer greater freedom to create shapes that can't be easily machined. Para uses forgings for barrels, because the unidirectional grain structure of the forging is conducive to our proprietary cut rifling technology. This makes Para's integral ramped barrels the most accurate production pistol barrels in the world.
For small parts, Para employs a space-age procedure called Metal Injection Molding, or MIM. This enables us to create precision parts in a finished state that would be difficult if not impossible to manufacture to the tight dimensional tolerances of our CAD/CAM designs. The strength of our MIM parts is equal to or stronger than that of conventionally machined parts.

At Para, we believe that providing you with the best pistol you can own means that we will stand behind that pistol 100% for as long as you own it. Since the beginning of the Millennium, Para has offered a Lifetime Service Policy to each original retail purchaser of its pistols.
This means that we will provide the original retail purchaser of any one of our pistols with all necessary service, free of charge, for the lifetime of the pistol, where adjustment or repair is required due to some defect in materials or workmanship.

Para maintains the highest quality control standard in the firearms industry - bar none! While several competitors boast that their barrels are air-gauged to verify consistency within one thousandth of an inch (.001"), Para works to a match-grade plus or minus four ten-thousandths of an inch (+/- .0004").
Para inspection is the toughest in the industry. Para uses a CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine in which a component in process is placed on the machine and every single dimension is checked against a computer model.
It's faster and more accurate than its human counterpart, and doesn't tire, get eyestrain or get distracted.
Finally, every Para pistol is test-fired before it is allowed to leave the plant.
